Bio: Elizabeth Waguespack is a Scientist in Research and Development at Novozymes. In this role, she conducts initial proof of concept plant trials for new alpha amylase enzymes in the biofuels industry. In 2019, she has worked to successfully launch Novozymes latest high temperature alpha amylase, Fortiva Revo.
Elizabeth has held several positions throughout her tenure at Novozymes. Through her previous work as a Field Scientist and as an integral member of the Digital Customer Engagement team Elizabeth has an unparalleled understanding of the data challenges faced by ethanol plants and keen insight into the potential opportunities provided by strong analytics and reporting. She has advised several ethanol producers on the implementation of data management systems.
Prior to joining Novozymes in 2014, Elizabeth worked as a Senior Process Development Engineer at Albemarle Chemical Company. During this time, she helped with the scale-up of a chemical process from lab to pilot plant and led commissioning efforts to prepare the pilot scale equipment for production.
Elizabeth earned a B.S. in Biochemistry from Texas A&M University and a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Arkansas where her focus was on optimizing the detection of a protein involved in Alzheimer’s disease.
