Bio:

Dr. Cannon joined the FQT team in 2018, driving various QA/QC, product development and R&D efforts to benefit the biofuels and biochemical markets. Prior to joining FQT, Don was the Director of Quality for a culinary herb, spice and essential oil company who oversaw 17 Quality Control staff in an ISO 17025 accredited food safety and quality laboratory. Don’s grain processing and biofuel industry experience was gained while working for the Genencor / DuPont Grain Processing Applications group. During this time, Dr. Cannon developed integrative analytical methods approach to gain deeper insights into biofuel fermentation residuals. Don also enjoys mentoring and teaching while exploring new research projects; as he was also an Assistant Professor of Chemistry at the University of Iowa prior to his time in Industry.

Dr. Cannon holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from The Pennsylvania State University; a Master’s degree from the University of South Dakota, and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh. Don also was awarded a Beckman Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Don is an accomplished scientist with more than 25 years of experience leading research projects, directing technical professional teams, and providing critical business strategy guidance and support.
